What a busy summer it’s been! Everyone has had their hands full if not with visiting family and friends, but having them visit us.
Our Church community does not stop taking care of each other whether we have a full/part-time Pastor or not.
A special shout out, to Sue Bartels this month, who has been calling and arranging Pulpit Supply for the last 5 months! Arranging Pastors, and schedules and then passing information onto the Worship team requires a lot of phoning, and coordinating. We are so thankful for your service to our Church Sue, your careful consideration and your willingness to make sure our spiritual needs are met on Sundays.
I’m sure everyone is delighted with the finalization of our Search Committee and to know we will have our first meeting before the end of July. Our committee members are Carla Chropkowski, Jane Eberly, Marilyn Norden, Jan Winnicki, and Tom Winquist. In addition to the Search Team members, Mary Dork, and Mary Moxon, will be using all the data that was gleaned from our 18 months of Interim Task Force Team and putting that information together for our Church Profile.
This is advantageous for our Search Committee, who can move forward to other parts of the process, as well as having this new information at our fingertips when we’ll need it. Our group is small, but mighty! Thank you, Mary Dork and Mary Moxon, for your contribution.
As usual we meet on the last Sunday of the month after service for The Listening Post in the lounge. Always an enjoyable way to share information, ideas, in a safe and nonjudgemental atmosphere. Join us if you’d like, even for just one meeting! We’d love to have your attend. The only agenda is what YOU’D like to talk about.
Our Study and Share group, while smaller, has committed to attending once a month, at Rennes in Rhinelander to meet with members Norma and Pam. We meet for an hour, on a Tuesday, and welcome other Church members to join us if you’d like to attend.
Some of us are still continuing to meet at Friendly Village as well. We have two more worship services scheduled to the end of the year. The residents of Friendly Village are so appreciative of our coming to share God’s love for them, particularly in song. Please feel free to join us at Friendly Village on September 10th and November 12th 2024 for a short worship service. We’d love for you to join us.
I will be away on vacation from 31 July to August 17, 2024. In my absence Sandy McKitrick, Vice Moderator is here.
